I think everyone should have some kind of a bucket list. Dream big! Why not? If you want to go to a certain place – near or far – then figure out a way to get there and go. If it’s going to cost a pretty penny, then set up a savings account and start plugging away at the cost every month. If you’ve always wanted to do something – but haven’t – then figure out how to get that done! Life is too short to sit around thinking about all the things you’d like to do but haven’t. Start checking off some boxes!
One thing I always wanted to do was swim with dolphins. “How cool would that be,” I thought. I went to Cabo San Lucas and the opportunity landed in my lap. The hotel we stayed at had all kinds of fun excursions and that was one of them. It wasn’t cheap, but we went for it. It was super cool indeed – and now I have great photos to help me vividly remember the experience.
I had heard all kinds of things about Iceland. It sounded like a neat place with beautiful scenery. And the Blue Lagoon! Oh yes…! That’s better than any Calgon product (if you’re old enough, you’ll remember the “Calgon, take me away…” commercials on TV.) Last year, I went on a Viking Cruise to the Baltic countries with my mom and all my aunts and uncles on her side. I never thought I’d do this… Instead of flying straight to Stockholm to meet up with everyone, I *accidentally* took a little detour to Iceland for three glorious nights. And my trip included the Blue Lagoon, of course. Believe it or not my little detour was by myself (vs. double occupancy like everyone else) – and I OK with that! Better than OK, actually. I was totally taken in by some of the coolest people I have ever met – and I’m still in touch with a couple of them to this day – and will be for a long time. Priceless. And yes…the Blue Lagoon was THAT cool.
