My son was leaving for his sophomore year of college, so the day before, we decided to take the day off and spent it with him. We woke up early, went for breakfast and headed to the beach.  The ocean water was warmer than normal so we got in the water and then took a walk by the pier. We took tons of funny photos and laughed so hard just being silly.

When your first born goes away to college, there is a mix of new emotions. In my case, I’m sad that I don’t get to see him everyday. That he is not around the house to just be with him and know how he is doing or feeling. I am also extremely proud of him. Going away is a great adventure that he is taking full advantage of. As a mom, I want the best for him. I’ve already made decisions about my life and now it’s his turn to grow and live his life to the fullest. My work is not done, because I still get to be mom even from far away, but I know it is time to think positive and let go. Seeing him happy makes it easier to let him go.

What do you need to let go of?
